Meet the Team: Jenny

August 24, 2022

This month, we are excited to introduce you to Jenny Newton, one of the awesome Growth Marketers in our family. Read on to get to know her, her secret talents and which client products stole her heart.

1. How long have you been part of the Mumpower family?

I started my journey last September and hit the ground running right in the middle of the pre-Christmas surge of activity.  It’s been a fun ride ever since.

2. What’s been the most surprising part about working at Mumpower?

The variety of opportunities and touch points we offer clients and how much of a difference this makes for both the brands we represent and the Mums we work with.  Also the strength of the relationships that have been formed, which is the backbone to who we are and our values.

3. Describe the culture.

Embracing and supportive, we really care about who we partner with and our employees are like family, it’s the personal touches that makes the difference.  It is also very aspirational as we are always encouraged and motivated to be the best we can be and to put forward ideas to continually improve and exceed expectations.

4. What’s been the most interesting project or task you have been exposed to?

Over the last 10 months I have been so lucky to work with such a fantastic and diverse mix of clients and brands.   Perhaps the most recent project I have been working on since December, is the Designworks suite of licenced apparel brands such as Bluey, Mooks, Everlast and Snoopy, just to name a few.  I enjoy working with multiple brand managers and influencers across campaigns and I always love seeing the different styles of content created.  We partner with an amazing network of talented Mums.

5. Since working at Mumpower which brand/product have you got to know more that you had no idea the impact they make to improving #MumLife?

OMG there are so many, being a mum of three myself I can relate to the brands and the products we represent and have on many occasions been influenced to buy them for myself or recommend to my friends.  Partnering with Russell Hobbs for their 2021 Christmas collection and the most recent Mother’s Day collab, has exposed me to the vast range of ‘real life’ products, that not only look great but make everyday jobs more enjoyable.  Love the functionality of the 2-1- Steamer Supreme which is great for someone who doesn’t iron! Also the range of multicookers that I have on my birthday wish list.

5. At Mumpower, our ethos and value system is built around nurturing strong relationships with brands, with Influencers, with Mum Shoppers, with each other.  What is your approach to building relationships?

That honesty and relatability is the best approach for building long lasting and trusted relationships.  I am a big believer in communication and working through solutions together to potential issues before they arise. Being a niche business, allows the freedom and agility to provide a more personalised and custom approach when it comes to nurturing relationships, it’s not a one size fits all solution.

6. What motto guides you?

Treat others as you would like to be treated and don’t sweat the small stuff.

7. What is the best career advice someone has ever given you?

Do not assume anything. It is better to ask and be sure. So much better than picking up the pieces of an incorrect assumption.

8. What would people be surprised to know about you?

I am originally from a small country town in northern Vic and married my high school sweetheart.

9. What is your secret talent?

I make a mean cocktail and I am the go-to girl at parties, camping trips with my trusty Thermomix to whip up some delights.  Available for hire if you need!

10. How would your best friend describe you?

Cruisy, dependable and friendly. Fun to be around and is always available to make a mean Mojito when needed.  Fiercely loyal – a friend of mine is a friend for life!

11. What is the best thing about working with a Mum-centric company?

Working alongside Mums who get Mums!! Life is busy, juggling family, work and the million other responsibilities you have running through your head at any one time is exhausting!  Mumpower provides the flexibility to work around life and doesn’t make you feel like you have to choose between both.  It also provides an outlet to use all the tools that we learn from being a Mum, multitasking, managing and relationship building into our everyday work activities to create empowered solutions.

12. What hashtags best describe you?

#mumlife #mumofthree #mojitoqueen #foodie #countrygirl #lovesholidays #goblues

13. How others at Mumpower describe Jenny.

“Jenny brings the calmness and order to the chaos and frenzy with her cruisy, dependable and friendly nature. Not only is Jen a super smart and capable marketer, she is the person who you want to share the dance floor with.”
